On Monday, February 15, 2016, we reduced the current list of 26 syndicated blog categories to 13.
Why the change?
Cutting the blog categories in half allows us to serve you better in a few ways. It simplifies the WordPress user experience by providing fewer, more general categories to choose from. All the old topics (such as Office 365, iPhone, etc.) will still be covered, however, they’ll be covered under the new categories. For example, the old categories of Business Continuity, Business Value, Business Intelligence and Productivity will be covered under the new Business category. This reduction enables us to provide you more frequent blog posts. While before our editorial team was writing 4-7 posts a week for 26 categories, now they’ll be doing the same for 13 categories. That means more blog posts in your feed every week.
How this affects you
All the categories you were previously subscribed to have been migrated to the new ones automatically. That means you don’t have to do a thing. If, however, you would like to adjust your categories or subscribe to more, you can still do so by clicking on My Subscriptions in your wordpress dashboard, then navigate to the Tech section, and check the boxes of the categories you wish to subscribe to.
The new categories available are as follows:
- Security
- Business
- Office
- Hardware
- Virtualization
- Windows
- Web & Cloud
- VoIP
- Apple
- Android
- Social Media
- Healthcare
If you have any problems with your new categories or other blogging issues, don’t hesitate to get in touch. We’re happy to provide a more thorough explanation and show you how to get the most of your syndicated blog subscription!
